Smart Cookies Early Learning Centre Christmas Appeal!
As part of our Collaborative Partnerships with Families and Communities Smart Cookies Early Learning Centre held a Christmas Present Appeal in December. This appeal was to encourage families and friends to donate new toys for children that are less fortunate.
In January, one of our parents approached us and initiated a fantastic idea! "Post Christmas Appeal" which we also held from Monday 14th to Friday 18th January 2019. For this appeal, we invited all parents who have surplus or unwanted new toys their children received for Christmas to donate them. All items were donated on the children's behalf to the Salvation Army.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our Smart Cookies parents and children for making such a wonderful contribution to our Salvation Army Christmas appeal. Mr David from the Salvation Army was overwhelmed by the kindness and expressed how happy the less fortunate children will be when they receive their gifts. Thank you for making this possible.

The NSW Government is helping kids get active and creative with the new Active Kids & Creative Kids Voucher program.
Parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher valued up to $100 per calendar year for each student enrolled in school aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled in school.
The Creative Kids voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and tuition costs for creative arts, speech, drama, dance, digital design, coding, and music lessons and activities.
To use the Creative Kids voucher, give the details to your registered activity provider and present your voucher when you sign up.
The Active Kids voucher may be used with a registered activity provider for registration, participation and membership costs for sport, fitness and active recreation activities.
To use the voucher, find a registered activity provider and present your voucher when you sign up.
The vouchers can be used at any time during the calendar year it is issued. The program runs year-round, so kids can get active at any time!
